Chevron
Measures approximately 75 by 90 inches
120 blocks set 10 by 12
My design, use at your pleasure.
Block finishes 7 1/2 inches
Cutting:
Solid: one rectangle 3 1/2 by 2 inches, one rectangle 5 by 2 inches
Print: one 3 1/2 inch square, one rectangle 3 1/2 by 5 inches, one rectangle 3 1/2 by 8 inches
Pressing: always away from the square, leaving final seam unpressed
Assembly:
I don't like the idea of sewing long rows of small blocks so I put then into units.
Sew together into four-block units.
Take two units, press left one with block seams down, right with block seams up.
Combine into 8 block units.
At this point I lay out the units and determine the final setting. Sew into three rows, sew these rows together.

So simple, so colorful, so GREAT! I might need to borrow this idea.
This is a very effective little block, great for using up small bits I'm sure.
A very fun top - love the mix of fabrics.
Nice block design! Lots of fun colors! I don't like to sew long rows together either. I usually lay out the whole quilt but then try to figure out smaller units within thw whole top. like if the quilt is 5 x 6 blocks I'll construct 3x3 next to 2x3 and then the same for the bottom half. those block set get sew together and then I only have one log seam 3x5 to another 3x5. Does that make sense?!
To many words, I need a picture!! LOL
This is fantastic! Love the simplicity mixed with all the different bright colors and wonderful prints.:)
Loving all your bright mix of colours in these simple blocks! I too look for ways to avoid sewing long rows together, I usually go for making up blocks of nine components.
