I had a quick visit with mom this week. She asked we hang this quilt.
I made it in 1999 using scraps from mom's and from her mother's sewing.
The pattern was in an early Fons and Porter magazine.
Beth uses waste triangles to make a legend of the origin of each fabric.
Quilting in Chicago. Klein meisje is Dutch for little girl--what my beloved grandfather called his 12 granddaughters because, I fear, it was easier than trying to remember our names.

That is a very pretty summertime quilt! I just love the accompanying descriptions of the fabrics, what a great idea!
What a sweet applique quilt! Love the vintage vibe.:)
I have that pattern, somewhere, from a magazine maybe? I love it! Thank you for sharing it!
The quilt is a classic and made so special with the personal fabrics. Love the key!
What a beautiful way to document the fabrics you used in the quilt. So pretty. So much better than writing a note that can easily get lost.
