spools--top completed
672 spools.
At least 100 of them made with scraps from my mother's stash.
There are a couple of duplicates, but most fabrics used only once.
Set 24 by 28. I made them into blocks of 4, with one of each four made with pink fabric.
I used Kona Cotton Rich Red for the constant.
No borders. I love it!
Made with 3 inch finished blocks, as part of a year long challenge by Bonnie Hunter.

I love it too! Your quilt is so special, made from your mother's fabrics.
This is really Beautiful! And what a sweet treasure.
The red is great with your spools. This is one of my favorite spool quilts I have seen.
Just beautiful - contgratulations! I agree - no borders needed. And a great red!

Unbelievably fantastic! Love all the tiny pieces repeating repeating repeating. Makes for a dynamic quilt. Well done!
Wow red really gives this a different look. Love the scrappiness of this...fun that you added pink in all over too!
Beautiful. Love the red constant.
STUNNING! I must admit to being biased about red (it's my favourite colour) ... but I just love how your quilt looks! As others have said, this is my favourite spool quilt :)
This is gorgeous! What a great idea to use a constant background and the red is an inspired choice!
Beautiful!
Simply Stunning! I love the red constant!
Love the Red. Really makes them POP!!!
I just stumbled across this today. I was looking at the links on Bonnie's page, trying to decide whether or not I'd regret using tea dyed muslin for all of my spool backgrounds. Your red is GORGEOUS! And it gives me hope that my solid background won't look awful.
