scot's plaid

I love this quilt--I made it about 8 years ago from my 1 1/2 inch and 2 1/2 inch strips drawers. Who knew I had this many reds?

What a totally fabulous graphic punch this quilt makes. I LOVE it! What a great way to use the strips. Did you invent the pattern - if not, where can we find it?

From Lynn:
This block was on Rosie's Calico Cupboard site in 1999--I just checked and it is still up:

I added sashing.
I used a constant fabric in the corner stones and for the large square. The small rectangles were reds, with a few pinks. The large rectangles are any dark fabrics. The squares were usually beige, but sometimes gold or pink.

This looks so scrappy and fun....and EASY You make me want to tackle some more strippy quilts to clear out those bins! I probably should...it would be good annihilation for shorter lengths....

Love the quilt, what are the unit sizes for the block? (My soon to be MIL's favorite color is "plaid.")

Lynn, that's very pretty. At first I thought it was an antique because the pattern reminds me of something old. You did a great job.

And who knew that all these red scraps would turn out so nicely and looking so spritely in this unusual quilt. I love the graphic looks of it!

I recently saw a quilt that was similar to this one (4 patch with a big square and some rails) I am so glad that you posted where you found it...
