August marks 17 years of this blog.
I am glad to have this record of my life.
Scrolling to the early posts, I find it interesting that there is a consistency to my quiltmaking. There is growth, learning, refinement, but there is also a sense of this person 17 years ago is the same person making quilts today.
I also enjoy seeing our children grow up on these pages. I've tried to protect their privacy in those posts. They have expressed how they like reading these memories too.
Thank you for reading my thoughts!

What a beautiful family! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and journey with us. Your generosity with your quilt designs and patterns is so appreciated. I have learned enough/saved enough instructions to last the rest of my days, but please don’t stop.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on continuing to blog for 17 years. So many have stopped or moved to Facebook (which I won't join) so as a faithful blog reader it's nice to see good blogs continue. Live long and prosper.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog a few years ago and read all the archives - so many beautiful quilts, beautiful family stories, its a treasure for you and your family to look back on as well as a gift to readers.

Such a milestone - and I like your insight into who you were/are as a quiltmaker. Blogging is still the best. Thanks for continuing to post and share.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on sticking with your blog. So many people have benefitted from your tutorials. Your home you moved from was so beautiful. I loved seeing shots of it in your blog. I'm going to have to back and read some of the early posts again. You are such a prolific quilter...and actually finish a lot of quilts...and they are all BIG quilts.
ReplyDeleteI have followed your blog for many years now and feel so fortunate to actually have met you in person! You were so friendly when you invited my friend and I to your house and quilting group! It was a very special treat to us! I truly enjoy reading about your family, quilts and church.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations that's a lot of blogging! I've enjoyed reading your blog since I discovered you over the last few years, and want to thank you for the quilts, patterns and ideas you have shared so generously.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I have learned so much from you. You are generous and gifted.
ReplyDeleteWow, 17 years! Congratulations ! I wonder how many bloggers have lasted that long, so many I used to follow departed to Facebook or Instagram, where the speed is more important and where everything has to happen NOW. I still prefer the slow lane :-)
ReplyDelete17 years blogging! Woohoo! Congrats to you on your perseverance! I have thoroughly enjoyed following along with you ever since I found your blog. I like how you said you can still see pieces of the person you were at starting in the person quilting today. It's always a little surprising when we feel like we've made such huge changes. But good. So good to see the essence of who we are is still shining through!
ReplyDeleteYour hard work blogging and quilting have brought me an enormous amount of pleasure and inspiration. Congratulations and thank you.
