The kids are in a minimalist mindset and asked what to do with all these quilts. (In a not too kind way.)
I told them to take what they wish, let my sisters choose, and my neighbors, then hand them out to whoever shows up at my funeral.
They said they might have to give four or five to each person...
That closet looks amazing! What a stack of quilty goodness! And you know, if they find out quilts will be given out.....you just might have your bank teller and deli clerk show up at the funeral! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea to take them to the funeral and hand them out. I have been wondering what will happen to all of mine too.
ReplyDeleteI had a smile at the kids' comments - they don't understand do they? It is such a wonderful stack of quilts - would be nice displayed without doors as a decorating feature!
ReplyDeleteYou made me giggle!! I too have been told something quite similar about my quilt abundance...so I am giving my quilts to patients!! Love that!!
ReplyDeletelooks pretty! just the reason why I started giving mine away now. my kids roll their eyes at my fabric collection and say the same thing what do we do with that!

What is it with kids these days? They don't get it! Mine are the same way... my daughter sometimes says nice things about the quilts I'm working on. So I offer her the quilt and she says nooo, I don't want it. Oh well, at least I have fun with my fabrics! As I tell my husband: Happy wife, happy life! And this wife is happy!:)

Lynn...KIDS!!! Arrrrgggghhh.
ReplyDeleteI've got a feeling though, that when the time comes, they'll have a very hard time letting go of many of your beautiful quilts!!

I wonder if we all have the same thoughts about the quilts we make. Your stack looks amazing. I am sure they will be loved by whoever is lucky enough to get them.
