When I first started quilting I bought some cheap 99 cent thread. As I was doing a final press of a crib quilt top the iron melted the thread and all the pieces started to fall apart.
I cried.
I put the quilt on the shelf. It took me a few years to finally throw it away.
And I have always used good thread since.
I am in the process of doing hexies and the thread makes a difference, I am just starting collecting good thread. For hexies I use a polyester thread and it helps my stitches.
ReplyDeleteI am also doing an English Paper Piecing project. I am using up all the questionable light colored thread in the basteing.
ReplyDeleteEeek! Too bad you couldn't have saved it! Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteso what kind of thread do you use, cotton?
