florabunda

It's big.
It's yellow.
It's ugly--but in that good way.
Thanks to Bonnie Hunter, who has unleashed yellow quilt fever around the country, I have completed this Jacob's Ladder top. All from stash.
About 87 by 87 inches.
(yes, I see that I flipped a triangle in the second block on the bottom row.)

  2. This quilt top really sparkles--all the yellows are different pieces, but really control the setting!! Wonderful, and answers my questions about one solid yellow throughout or different yellows!! Thanks for showing this. Judy

  6. Yellow is my favorite color- but I rarely purchase yellow fabric. Maybe I'll have to look into that....

  7. I especially like the range of values in the non-yellow fabrics. I think that the yellow background makes everything else sparkle.

  12. Wonderful quilt. And my grandmother called the twisted or incorrect block a "humble" block.

  14. Love your version Lynn! It is big, and ugly but in a good way, and very yellow. Mine probably will be exactly the same in all 3 categories, LOL.
I'm not nearly as speedy as you however, and altho I'm making a couple of blocks a day, I've got a ways to go. Love your bag challenge! Hugs, Finn

  15. OMG, done already! And no it's not ugly. I've never been a big fan of yellow (which is why I had to go buy some to do this project) but I loved the color and look of Bonnie's as soon as I saw it. Both of your's have that "good 'ole quilt" look and I think it's great!!

I'm itching to start mine but have other projects on the front burner right now but thanks for more inspiration to get to this soon!!

  16. I was looking at Bonnie's patterns, deciding which one to do next and found your amazing quilt. It is BEAUTIFUL and I love the yellow. I shall use yellow as well and make a sunny, happy quilt, which yours is too!
