I used the idea from
Kathie's Plaid kits to make my own version of stretched stars for my dear friend and neighbor. Sharon and I are both thrift shoppers for plaid shirts and give each other a sleeve from every shirt we buy.
I cut the greens 4 1/2 inch square and the reds 2 1/2 inches.
Also, when you are not paying attention, the stars go different ways. So, a second little quilt will come soon from the backwards stars.
You and Kathie just may be inspiring me to make a stretched star quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh it is great!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Love it with the red stars , Oh I may need to make another one. thank goodness they go together quickly!
ReplyDeleteI cut my squares 3 1/2 and 2 inches if you want it a bit smaller.

How cute is that, to exchange a sleeve each time! Great way to build the old-shirt pattern stashes. Sigh, now I want a stretched-star quilt too. So many project ideas.
ReplyDeleteAs the recipient of this lovely quilt, I want to tell you all it is even more beautiful in real life. Lynn is an inspiration, and a dear, dear friend!! Thank you Lynn!!
