I just got these back from my quilter, Suzette. The County Lines pattern is a wonderful way to use a theme of fabrics. I have previous posts with using the pattern with turquoise and red, and batiks with black. This one with brown and plaids I really like. Very Japanese looking. http://www.mountainpeekcreations.com/patterns.html
The squares were made as a class sample for my Flower Garden class, to show you could use the idea with something other than large florals. I love the border fabric.
Both of these quilts use very humble fabrics for the interior, then fabulously rich fabric for the borders.
Love your cowboy quilts Lynn (not to mention your little cowboy helper!). The stained glass one with plains is quite effective! Lots of good ideas here :)
ReplyDeleteLynn: I love the quilt on top -- looks like farmland from the air. Seth is a great assistant.
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts look wonderful and the quilting suits them.
ReplyDeleteMORE wonderful plaids. I especially like the second one, and the setting on point kicks it up a few notches!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I am finding myselft saying - I need some brown.
ReplyDeleteLynn, thank you for sharing your quilt pics. Love seeing all of the colors together. Would you mind sharing your instructions for the buzz saw quilt from Jan 07 post? www.GypsyQuilterDesigns@yahoo.com
ReplyDeletevery nice, like the colours....
ReplyDeleteLove the cowboy peaking over the top, too! Your quilts are terrific...the second one is my favorite. It reminds me of a candy jar.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, more great quilts!! You really do get a lot done, with such a young family to care for. The pattern is perfect for those plaids!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work! Hugs, Finn
P.S. what did you find out at your check up? How are things progressing?? I think of you daily, sending hugs, Finn
Both of these quilts are stunning -- and I am not usually a big fan of plaids!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me, I have found your wonderful quilts again just in time for me to start my plaid op-shop shirt quilts. Such a lot of good ideas you have! tracey
